Details
The Country Living Grain Mill is constructed of a cast metal alloy with an attractive and durable powdercoated finish that resists chipping and peeling. Its hardwood handle is 7" long to provide plenty of leverage, and is comfortable to use. The mill's flywheel doubles as a v-belt pulley, so you can easily adapt it to operate it with an electrical source. We've even heard of Country Living Mill owners who have rigged it to work with an exercise bicycle!
Most importantly, the Country Living Mill is made to grind the highest-quality flour with minimal effort. We've used hand-operated mills that produce coarse flour, with enormous effort, but not the Country Living Mill. Its 5" diameter grinding burrs are made of high-carbon steel for long life, and it has industrial-grade, double-sealed ball bearings spaced to minimize wear. Relatively little manpower is required for this hand-operated mill. Whether you prefer to crack your grain at a loose setting, or you prefer extremely fine flour, the Country Living Grain Mill will allow you to do it in a single pass. And when it's time to clean up, it's easy to remove the grinding plates, brush the flour off, and reassemble them—in a minute or less!
